I think some fans on this site are pathetic.

If you take the Newcastle game out because they weren't in the league last year;

Last Year
Forest Home = Loss
Sheff United Home = Loss
Swansea Away = Loss
Barnsley Away = Win

= 3 points

This Year
Forest Home = Draw
Sheff United Home = Loss
Swansea Away = Draw
Barnsley Away = Win

= 5 points

I recall a time around 18 months ago asking why we weren't playing the kids and now we ask why we are?

I don't think anybody expected realistically that we would we would be promoted this team. It was Sir Steves time to leave, last season again a lot of fans questions Coppells tactics and questioned his choice in personnel and being afraid to drop players and change formation.

People have moaned about the performances of S Hunt, Rosenior, Doobs. Now Rodgers came in and has brought his own players in and we still moan

Now we have somebody in who isn't afraid to make decisions, isn't afraid to change things around and who isn't afraid to play the kids.

It's time we get behind the team rather than getting on there backs, this team will be a very good team.

As recent times go, it's a frustrating time to be a Reading fan but not because of the team but because of the so called fans that will never be happy. I would love to know where all the money has gone(probably into the building of the mad mans new home!) but don't take it out on the team. Take it out on the club, don't buy shirts or merchandise or food etc in the ground.

strap
sandman Success must always be always be aspired to no on e wants to see the club stand still. No one was excited about this supposed revolution before the Barnsley game and they were bemoaning the changes. A change is good when you've got confidence in the person leading it but I do not as yet have any confidence in a manager with less than 50 Games under his belt and has just signed a one season wonder and a kid. Rodgers may well be a success but you have to be seriously myopic not to acknowledge the valid concerns people have about him and the squad.

Sound point. Confidence and respect have to be earned. BR's entire managerial career consists of 39 games.

Blind faith is all well and good, but a good dose of realism will not go amiss, both here on the boards and in the Club's utterings. We now have a team with an average age likely to be in the low 20's, with a manager who has bossed 39 games. These are FACTS.

Finishing in 21st place this year has GOT to be considered a success. A mid-table finish a la Watford last year will be extraordinary, and should we end up flirting with the play-offs, then BR will have every right to crow. The next season will be the big test of this season's revolution. Having witnessd something similar with Jack Mansell's reign it could well be a rollercoaster couple of years.

Really can't wait for Doncaster!

Nice to hear a voice of reason on here, although as usual I have a more optimistic outlook and am still hoping for a top-half finish.

I think the other aspect about all this is to say how ballsy BR has been (for good or bad)... with such drastic surgery to the playing staff, if it all goes tits up he has no-one to blame but himself. He is backing his judgement to the hilt, right across the board... in terms of how we play and the players we've now got. A more evolutionary approach may have been better or worse for the club, but it certainly would have given him personally more of an excuse if things go badly.

So respect to BR for having the guts to do this, and to do it so quickly... I just hope to God he's right!

These people will moan at everything and anything until we spend all the proceeds of every player sale we make!
