Leigertwood is playing like Xabi Alonso, Hunt doing really well. In your face HNA?

We're playing very well so far. restricting them to mainly long shots. There goal was lucky, we almost took our only half chance.

Passing-wise has been the best we've played all season

One playing for a new contract for the new manager - the other playing for a place in the side when the new manager comes along

It'll be Dolan for the rest of the season i reckon

So much better already!! Amazing what keeping the ball and slowing the pace down can do!

Dolan growing on me with his mad Irish instructions from the sidelines. The players need that and it's clearly helping.

Positive performance. Much more controlled passing and less hoofing. Hunt's isolated and we look toothless upfront and weak in midfield. But that's a given. Unlucky goal to conceed, we've largely restricted Utd to long shots and it took a big deflection for them to score. We've threatened a wee bit, but McCleary, McAnuff and HRK haven't been prominent enough, although none have played badly.

Legs has played it simple and calm, which is good. Karacan's upped his game against a famous team as usual and I think this is one of his better performances this season. Shorey's added a bit more passing quality at the back.

On this showing so far, I'd be quite happy for Dolan to get the job, although I still think I'd prefer someone more managerially established. Maybe with Dolan as the No 2 if possible. Then again, we always up our game against Utd, and they aren't exactly under any pressure at all.

72 bus So we CAN play a passing game
Who Knew ?

Me, I've been saying all season we're better than the dirge we've been playing if we really want to be.

I did want Di Canio in for the way he leads the team from the sideline. Wouldn't mind Dolan keeping charge for the rest of the season/next season after that showing.

I've been keeping tabs of Leigertwood's passing stats.

So far 3 inaccurate passes (all forward, fairly long range)

Successful passes: 11 backwards, 8 sideways, 9 forwards.

Unlike usually, Leigertwood is not just passing backwards because of panic or lack of options. We're really trying to retain possession and Leigertwood has been largely the reason for this.

BM should have gone before Christmas to give the new manager a transfer window. Too late now!

The only thing we need to change is get a couple more men in the box for attacks, but judging by Dolan's touchline shouts he intends to get us a bit more attacking in the 2nd half

Hes been driving the team forward and pushing united back. Also won the ball back countless times along with Jem.

His problems have mainly been his heavy legged laconic style and a total lack of options leading to dithering, risky passes or hoofs.

when we give him quick options he plays pretty well.

Can see this game as an audition for Dolan, Keep the score down, play well and he'll be given the rest of the season...

The ESPN half time pundits, seem to think Man Utd are likely to score loads in the 2nd half, bit farfetched seeing as they've only created about 2 decent chances from close range and we've mainly restricted them to ineffectual long range shots
