PEARCEY
NR_Royal Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Its winnable.

Dis'greed.

Genuinely more chance of a win against Fulham, Pompey or even Chelsea than a team in our division...if our league & cup record in recent weeks is anything to go by.

Maguire Football wise, you can't argue with a home draw against beatable opposition

As a fan I might have wanted something more exciting on paper but i'll take it.

Yep and it does offer the real possibility of a glamour tie in the QF's if we get through.

winchester_royal I'd like to think the prospect of reaching the QF's of the FA Cup will be enough incentive to the players.

Yeah, obviously, but taking on the best in the division is always going to make you come out an play your best and try your hardest just like playing Prem opposition has done so far... So when you add it all together i'd say it's a pretty decent result for us.

West Brom aren't the best team in the division, and I honestly think we'd have got the 3 points up there were it not for Cummings existing, and the McAnuff backpass.

I'd agree with that mostly, although I'd take out Chelsea and put in Bolton and Stoke

floyd__streete Another home draw please, preferably with a 3pm kick off (or earlier) on a Saturday due my other commitments that weekend. For once - and for reasons stated above - I wouldn't mind a home game with a Championship side, excluding those asolute f*cktards from Cardiff.

Thanking you, Stephanie Moore.

I can't quite work this one out. What are the chances of getting to the Quarter Finals for the first time since 1927? Are they better or worse than the last two times we got to the 5th Round (97/98 - Sheff Utd away, 06/07 - Man Utd away)?

Ian Royal We wouldn't have a much worse chance of progression IMO given Man City were given a tough time of it by Scunny today.

Whereas West Brom were given a tough time of it by Huddersfield in the last round, and failed to win at Derby last month. We can play this game all day :| Perhaps it's just best to assume that teams in the top six of the Premiership are generally better than those in the Championship.

The players won't raise themselves adequately against WBA; they would against a Prem oppo.

I've just realised something - I haven't missed a Reading FC 5th Round FA Cup tie since 1935 8)

Obviously getting WBA at home is a great tie and one which we could definately set out to win... but when we got drawn out and i saw who was left, i definately wanted WBA the least out of them, Pompey and Soton. Ahh well, COME ON URZ! :)

Yes. WBA will bring 4,000 and I reckon there will be an extra 2-3,000 Reading so approx 18,000 attendance at a guess.

p.s I am fully aware that this a poor fishing attempt.

Row Z Royal The players won't raise themselves adequately against WBA; they would against a Prem oppo.

Coming out of the ground yesterday i overheard quite a few people saying it's all very well beating Premiership teams in the Cup but we need some points in the league as well. The players will be all too aware of that themselves, so the chance to play one of the 'better' (if not best  ) teams in the division should keep them on their toes. And as W_R said, getting through to QFs should be a pretty big incentive to raise their game.

If we win we're not just through to the QFs, it'll be a good confidence boost for the team in terms of knowing we can beat teams in our own league. It might even put out a message to teams in the Championship that we can win at home and we're not purely capable of turning up if it's Prem oppo. Unless you are right and we are in which case we will lose.

But I say quit with the negativity and see what happens on he day. Having already beaten Burnley and Liverpool I think any side that comes to us now will be wary, and i'd rather play a wary WBA than a wary Chelsea or Aston Villa. It's getting to that stage when teams like that will go all out. Unlike Liverpool who thought it was so early in the competition that they would just show up and go through.

That's how I see it anyway.
