Make that two really poor results as Plymouth are not exactly high fliers and lost again tonight.
Four goals conceded against these sides suggests we have to sort defence out.
Both Charlton's goals were due to piss poor defending. Quite what position Duberry was in for their equaliser was beyond me.

Shots On Target
2 8

Shots Off Target
3 1

Did they really have 8 shots on target and we scored from the only two we managed?

We hit the woodwork four times. Does that count as on or off target?

Off, as on target implies that it would have gone in if it hadn't been saved.

Means the 3 off target figure can't be right though.

Not sure, but last time I checked, 4 was greater than 2.

I am not sure Bikey is necessarily the answer. I was suprised that Kebe was dropped tonight though; I know he has had a bit of a howler the last couple of home matches, but watching him at Plymouth my faith was restored. Blakey was fairly quiet throughout and that is just an indication of the lack of match fitness that he has, considering how he use to play in the past. I was pleased to see SHunt go off as a set of fresh legs down the left was needed and Tabb did assist with our second goal. My question is, why do we always have to go a goal down before struggling to come back ? We were unlucky with Long hitting the side post and Doyle hitting the crossbar but it seems almost as if everything is conspiring to keep us from storming ahead and climbing up the table.

Kebe was injured according to BBCRB.

Good game lads, should have been an away win but refs are always going to favour the bigger home teams, and generally home teams due to the atmosphere.. stick us at home and we could of got our blatent pen and you not. ah well, not bothered we're down anyhow. 8)

perhaps see you again in a good few seasons :?:

erm...yeah, how'd I work that out? Guess I was in a daze based on who our leading goal scorer of the last 9 matches has been.

No, just ourselves, helped by Steve's poor decision to drop an in-form Kebe in place of an unfit (and possibly past it) Little.

Another home game and another stinky pile of something unpleasant.

Although we seemed to carry more threat than the opposition, the lack of sustained pressure and the general air of panic there seemed to be about the team meant for yet another dreadfully depressing result against a team that will be lucky if they manage to finish the season in the same division.

While certain players played quite well; Pearce, Little, Long there didn't seem to be much there in terms of a team who looked like a team capable of automatic promotion.

With yet another home game on us on Saturday I worry that yet another abysmal pile of stuff at home will finally do for our automatic challenge as I struggle to see us get anything at the form team of Doncaster next tuesday or our usual depressing trip to Palace a few days later and then we get a weekend off before our standard terrible performance is bound to turn up at Coventry.

We now have not won a home game in 4 attempts stretching back to the end of January, and we've failed to win any games on a Saturday since mid December. A fetid awful stinking dreadful run indeed (and I note that last time we hit this sort of run, that did for our promotion chances, it followed a home stuffing of Watford just after Christmas).

Still with Wolves and Birmingham only managing draws and none of the immediate teams behind us winning its a case of business as usual, just as if we'd all won. But we can't keep relying on the foul ups of others.

This feels like 2004/05 all over again. (We tried to f*** up 2001/02 but couldn't quite manage it. What is it about Reading?)
