So Kebe gets a precious goal in BOTH legs, against a seriously good side

and another assist for the precious equaliser by Howard

and his stats now are a goal every 4.79 x 90 minutes on the pitch,
closing in on SIX time Jobi's strike-rate

ST sub PL goals G/G AS Season
23 05 23.83 10 02.38 06 09-10 0215 Gylfi

M-U-R-T-Y Did it again tonight?

He's Jimmy Pele in our house now. It won't be a disaster for Jimmy and Gylfi to be our wide players for a handful of matches. Jobi desperately needs a rest and his stupidity has assured that he will get it.

Agreed but it's interesting how different reds and potential reds get dealt with
on this list. Long, Griffin, now Mac

If Long had done the same it would have been "stupid"
disgraceful, letting the team down, gonna lose to Wednesday etc

Lots of people have said Jobi was stupid, etc - for example, check my post on this very same page!

Yes, that's certainly true. But it's also the case that Shane is more prone to doing such stupid things as fouling and pushing people. So people are more likely to give Jobi the benefit of the doubt. I think players' good performances and behaviour get saved up in fans' favouritism bank, and Jobi is drawing a lot on his exemplary performances earlier in the season. He's losing PotS support (rightly) at the moment, and he'll lose more general suport if he repeats last night's silliness (no more than a push, but an unnecessary one nevertheless). Shane, on the other hand, seems to have a tendency to let himself down just as he is gaining favour with the fans. Every time he gets stocked up on favouritism he empties a fair chunk of it with a petulant throw of the shirt or dumb dive-in foul.

Nobody saw what Jobi did though. I saw Long get himself stupidly sent off twice this season so he deserves some stick. If McAnuff had produced a shocker of a tackle then people would slag him too.
