Ian Royal West Brom home

Arse

As good as we could have hoped for TBH.

I'd rather have had, oh i don't know....Southampton, in the division below us? As opposed to a team at the top of our division....

West Brom aren't that good this season. Much more winnable than say Bolton away.

When it came down to us, WBA, Pompey or Saints, you just knew which two would be left!

Ian Royal Don't fancy our chances in the slightest. Not sure it'll get a big attendence and almost certainly won't get on TV

Chelsea v Cardiff and Saints v Pompey strike me as good bets for TV

Could have been a lot worse Ian, Stoke or Bolton away.

There's 2 sorts of ties you want - either a decent payday with TV coverage which we would have got with Chelsea or Man City (but prob gone out) or a winnable home tie which we have got.

They are in a real scrap with Forest now for 2nd place so may not be totally focused.

Cons - If we're going to get knocked out, it may as well be a Premiership side.
Pros - We could win and then we're in the Quarter finals.

WBA at home represents a very real chance to get into the QF's for the first time in a long time, bring it on.

The same West Brom who murdered Newcastle yesterday?

So your saying it's a banker away win, as it probably would have been if we'd got someone like Villa at home?

Not the most thrilling draw but it suits my criteria of being a 3pm ko on the saturday so I'm all for it. Better chance of progression mind you

Leeds must be disappointed to hear that Southampton are the only remaining League 1 side, according to Rosenthal, or is that a good thing as ITV still have them in the prem?

Because they've played us this season and will already have had us watched a couple of times.

Not bloody difficult to work out is it?

Not a great tie, but sort of feel that on our day we could beat them.

Ummm, a) We played them under Rodgers, where we were playing a very different style of football, with different personnel.

b) I imagine if we were playing them, Bolton will have our next few matches watched anyway.

By your logic we'd be better off playing Manchester City than WBA.

to be honest i think i would have preferred to take on pompey or saints, but completely agree. It could have been so much worse. Villa, Spurs, Chelsea, Man City... we missed them all.

Hopefully an added incentive for the team will be the chance to prove themselves against a team in our own division for a change. If we beat them it could be a great boost for their mentality in the league.

I hope we get a decent crowd. If we can beat Liverpool and Burnley I can't see why we can't beat West Brom. It won't be easy, but surely not as difficult as Chelsea or any of the other Prem lot? And I'm including Owen Coyle's Bolton in that. wouldn't fancy playing them at all.

We wouldn't have a much worse chance of progression IMO given Man City were given a tough time of it by Scunny today. And we'd be much more up for it and whatever would make a wedge more cash.

Our squad is mostly the same as under Rodgers, our weaknesses remain largely the same. West Brom will undoubtedly have us watched again as well.

I'd like to think the prospect of reaching the QF's of the FA Cup will be enough incentive to the players.

Football wise, you can't argue with a home draw against beatable opposition

As a fan I might have wanted something more exciting on paper but i'll take it.
