Think you've placed Ipswich and Newcastle a little high. Newcastle in particular. But other than that looks reasonable to me.

8th at best - weaker squad than last season and no signs of it being strengthened

We're stronger at LB, two good players there now.

Pearce has another year's experience so should be better.

Long should be better

Matejovsky, a class international looks like he'll be properly used

Federici is as good as USA but is improving whereas USA was declining.

Tabb broke through and will probably do well this year, so the midfield is stronger.

No reason to think Noel is in decline. Cisse should be the same. Henry will be a better player than last year.

And the boys coming through, quite a few so great promise. So really it's just losing Doyle and (presumably) SHunt

Reading will win the league with 107 points and BR will then leave and go on to manage Man Unt after Sir Alex retires at the end of the season.

So long as we finish in the top half, I'm not bothered.
I see the next few seasons as transition/maturing seasons.

would be amazing if your predictions were true, and this accurate only swap Boro' with Reading
and it would be quite funny if Cardiff missed out on playoffs again by one place.

The weakness of this prediction is that it doesn't have any surprises in there - there will be one team that will defy the odds; I'd go for someone like Sheff W, Scunthorpe or someone like that doing a lot better than expected; and there also needs to be at least one team who does exactly the opposite - my money would be e.g. on Newcastle, Ipswich, or .. ehem ... Reading.

I am having Boro & Sheff U top 2.

West Brom, Cardiff, Ipswich, Forest in the play-offs.

Plymouth, Scunny and Donny to go down.

Reading? F*ck knows. Slow start I reckon, how about 11th by the end.

Judging by the quality of football on show tonight that looks like a pretty poor call I'm afraid.

It's a long season, i'm sure Sheff Utd will be up there. Boro are harder to call as you don't know who's staying or going.

For me, I'll go for:

West Brom, Sheff Utd

Ipswich, Boro, Newcastle, Cardiff

Reading about 8th or 9th. Not really good enough this year without a goalscorer. Might change if we sign one...

Boro have no threat up front, and only look likely when Johnson is on the ball, and Sheff Utd's signings look awful TBH,
