Following on from Vision's post Coppell had Sidwell at Brighton and at Brentford but neither club could afford to buy him whereas we could.
When people have a go at our chairman and the lack of support financially to his managers they should not forget the massive support he gave in particular to Burns and Pardew and to a lesser extent to Coppell and Rodgers and Brian.

Hoop Blah
Simon's Church It was his full debut though wasn't it?

What's the deal with Khumalol? Can Spurs call him back any time in January, if so why haven't they done it yet?

I didn't think it was a full season long loan initially but it turns out it is. According to the way the Evening Post reported it at the time Spurs can recall him in January. I would assume that means at any time.

No idea why they wouldn't have recalled him, unless we've said we want to keep him around and they're honouring that deal. Perhaps they just don't want him back!

He seems to be playing for their reserves, I would have thought they would recall him to loan him elsewhere. We'll probably sign a replacement.

The father is Darren Caskey. There are no Forster genes in there.

In comparison to the likes of Brentford and Brighton at that time, yes the investment/support was significant.

However, into the 21st century and not only are we trying to compete at a very different and much higher level but the 'investment' granted to Rodgers and Brian certainly is of a lesser extent. Indeed it has been a case of more money in than out and I suspect Brighton are now trumping us e.g. MacKail-Smith v ALF.
