I have a pathological hatred of all things Meaker but I will heartily concede that Bas Savage was, at best, oxf*rd shite!

Three good months doesn't negate the fact that he was absolute mince for two years though.

Wrong.

Unless about 15 assists in 2008/9 = mince.

Always disappointing before.. Yes. But never actually crap, just largely failing to deliver as well as he obviously could. He was certainly no Brooker.

Kebe is a very important player for us now. Crucual to our chances of promotion next season. He still seems to be a bit of a confidence player though. Thats my only concern because he is easily good enough to damage the opposition at this level.

Perhaps the pillock who came up with the Na Na Hey Hey Jimmy Kebe song turned it around.

It's my opinion Ian, how can that be wrong? I'm not stating my opinion as fact.

Anyway, there's more to playing wide than just setting up goals, although granted that is the main part of the wide-player's game. But a striker can finish as top scorer in a season and still be considered mince - see Craig Maskell. Same principle applies. All round contribution matters at this level.

Your opinion certainly can be wrong. Your opinion could be that Sigurdsson, or Kebe, or Bertrand were "mince" this season.

You're entitled to express your opinion, just as I'm entitled to shoot it down in flames as the rubbish it is by pointing out Kebe's contribution in 08/09.

HNA backtrack again

by readingbedding » 26 Sep 2010 10:08

Stand up Reggae, Reggae, Reggae.
Here comes Jimmy Kebe.

When he first joined, he was a like a rabbit in headlights.
Slated by most on here, what the moaners failed to understand is that he could improve, in fact most people see the RFC footballer as the finished article.

Wasn't he moaned at last season at the home matches and away matches (more than others) last year pre McDermott?

Shhhh

Yes he was and deservedly so, since Heston took over he's come alive become acceptably consistent and shown why we paid 400k for him in the first place. Well done Heston for excellent man management skills.

Still a worry though that we are becoming very much a one man team.

Alan Partridge On that particular post yes, however if you go through the guy is world class according to juanpablo. We all have our favourites and if he turns out to be a top player then we know who would have told us all first. Personally he's got a long way to go yet.

a little story of note , last season my uncle was sat next to Harry Redknapp "ere you support these lot do you" , "yes mate", "what do you think of that black boy on the wing"

my uncle replied that he was shit to which Harry responded "nah good plyer that kid, bit of confidence and you will see"

wouldnt be suprised if spurs come in for him (stick it on the told you so list)

JYOUNG1300 hes a great player to the final cross or shot and it all goes terible wrong!

He IS frustrating, but what if a coach sorts his last touch out,
gets him hitting 90% of his crosses into the right area and improves his shooting?

Interesting that he scored 7 goals in 34 games in the French 2nd Division, 2 in 33 for us
