Greatwesternline I feel like with the transfer window we've had we've spent quite a lot of money on extra wages signing on fees and transfer fees such as agent fees.

And we're in all likelihood not going to be promoted. Feel it may have been better to hold the money back and target a better squad assembled well before the start of a season in the summer so that you get the full bang for your money with the 42 games that matter.

How many of these players will still be here game 1 next season? Have we not just used up quite a lot of budget to just have quite a good second half of a season? Why didn't we do this in the summer?

In terms of incoming players, this feels like a much better window than the summer. Whether that was down to the manager; greater experience of what players the club could attain; more money being available; etc. may be worth factoring in. Certainly the two permanent signings are ones I fully expect to be involved regularly next season and both have the potential for resell value.

That said, it does feel like a financial gamble is being made to get into the play-offs this season. The wage bill must've increased quite a bit since Richardson's come in (R Williams; Rinomhota; Keane*; Nyambe*; Roberts; Ward; Young*) and I can't imagine our revenues have increased much this season compared to last for sustainable wages (the increased commercial revenue will be the main driver of any overall increase).

The main benefit of the signings, aside from improving the first team squad, appears to have allowed for a lot of our younger players to go out on loan. This will hopefully benefit us in the longer term, especially once the older players leave the club.

For once, i'm not that fussed if we're spending a bit recklessly right now. It's only Couhig's money on the line. There aren't any meaningful restrictions on how much you can lose in League One.
