cheers buddy, i started it when the thai's took over. Twitter was a very different place back then, was just supposed to be a bit of fun. All these itk accounts were popping up, so i thought i'd create a parody account. and it just progressed and i never actually thought anyone would really believe me, i mean the name was vvankered ffs  . But i drew a following, people did believed me, then i realised this could be something quite special. The last 6 months was so much fun. i finished with 1500 followers, and literally hundreds and hundreds of DM's, begging for news. And before the big reveal i had 1 million views on my posts in that last 7 days, i couldn't believe how far my reach was. It went absolutely crazy. More people were talking about me than the takeover. It is kinda sad, and i've had a few 'get a life' comments, which is fair, i'm a 42 year old man, i probably should. But the way i saw it was, twitter is cesspit of pcunts the #readingfc hashtag is just full of the worst kinda people, so i absolutely reveled in trolling them. 11 years, just wow. never did i expect to drag it for that long.

One Q - obvs not expecting you to go into detail but do you actually have a source or literally making things up/ reposting other rumours?

Yep I have sources, right to the very top.

I always thought Huang Kad was a wind up (I did post that it was an educated guess that anyone could make to say a deal would be done at the end of last week for example) but no idea who it was.

Fair play to you - top trolling.

(I did a bit back in the early Prem days, creating a "Aston Villa interested in Doyle" rumour after we played them 2nd game of the season; by the January window both Martin O'Neill - the then Villa manager - and SSC were having to field journalist questions over the rumour, which never went away even after multiple denials).

Additionally, I went down to watch training at Sonning a few times; I was there the morning that Mad Dog Allen was fired and the players were told - the look of joy on some of the faces told a story. Did a kick around with James Harper, and got barred from the training ground by Pards because he thought - mistakenly - that I was posting team details on (including who was going to be in the first team, even tactics) here after watching them train. (I know who did do the those posts, but Pards thought I was the culprit............)

This article https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3wxwqq3zx0o seems to say that the deal will be finalised tomorrow. As someone else said, I will not finally believe the deal is done until Companies house is updated which will hopefully be this week.

Where were those sources with your early failed 'revelations'? Weren't in contact with these sources at the time?

Brogue
Sanguine I normally hate this kind of stuff, but my word Brogue that was one hell of a long con. I'm not sure what the point was, but that's not really the point. I salute you, terrific stuff.

Did you get many DMs? When I've created fake profiles, I end up getting tons of DMs from people which I mostly ignore but it does get annoying and distracts from the task at hand.

Did you have anyone in the Jazz Cafe or elsewhere come up to you?

This should teach everyone a valuable lesson... but it won't. Come June/July and August when some random account says we're heavily linked to Harry Kane and he's been spotted in the Oracle - everyone will be going mental and getting excited.

But I’m assuming absolutely nobody with the slightest bit of sense thought you were from the Bangkok news or actually called Huang Kad?

So you were actually just a reasonable itk account who leaked some info which wasn’t forthcoming elsewhere? And just about the only one with any credibility whatsoever

I started one about our new Brown away kit, things got a bit out of hand when someone at the club (Andy West) had to issue a statement on the mailing list to deny it

Didn't he ban you from shouting words of encouragement at the players on an overseas pre-season friendly because your voice was louder than his and the players were listening to you "Keep your shape, Keep your shape"

blythspartan Until I see Dai removed as the owner on the Companies House website I can’t get too ecstatic about the takeover. Sorry, for my ignorance, but does a deal in principle mean that it’s just a matter of time until it’s done (i.e., legal formalities)?
A deal in principle is no cast iron guarantee if you believe at least one of the two parties is not a man or principle.

I believe this deal represents the best option for Dai Yongge, so from that reason I can't see him backing out of it. Things may get messy if he drops dead before it is signed, but I guess you can't own a football club if you are dead so at least that will satisfy the EFL until it's sorted.

My gut feeling is that the statement was put out because all signatures have been received and there are just a couple of legal or EFL hurdles i.e. just registering certain documents etc that need to be ironed out before it is fully official.

That may be a naive view but seems the most likely.

Because we have a Championship stadium, a Champ/PL Academy and training ground, a good L1 first team squad and a borderlibe Championship youth squad and only L1 income.

I'd never seen that before, and I wished I had.

Those who were suggesting there needs to be a massive clear out of staff behind the scenes should hang their heads in shame.

Hopefully better days are ahead of us, with more modest ambitions and more careful stewardship.

Can we arrange an evening with Huang Kad at the Tilehurst Royal British Legion club?

Brogue sits on stage giving us the inside scoop of the DM's he received and the journalists he duped
