New Manager, new team, new times

by Tankite » 27 Aug 2016 20:25

RFC have changed the old 'Reading Way', brought in a new Manager and signed 11 players - a complete new squad in numbers.

This thread, for some of the fans who can't get to many matches, is to see how the new concept, the new Manager and, most of all, the new players, are showing their worth.

As of now, in terms of impact, I would assume that Swift, Beerens, Harriot, Van Den Berg etc. have been acceptable.

Other newcomers have yet to make an impact but, Moore and Blackett, who played today, kept a clean sheet.

With the exception of Gravenburch, who arrived before the new Manager, the other ten signings all appear to be good.

There's a couple of the new players that have barely played so how they can be deemed good is a bit of a head scratcher at this point.
It's really too early to judge. In October last year we thought we were odds on for Promotion and Blackman was a superhero. We're only in August and have yet to even start to field a settled side, let's give it a month or two.
But Swift,Beerens and Harriott look like players we could make a profit on in January.....

Surprised by how well the existing and new players have settled into the style of play under the new management team.

Lets hope the progression continues. As there's still a long season ahead.

Not all the players are going to make the grade. Expect some to leave.
