Eamonn's Dream Team

by Steve_Upper_West » 06 Aug 2016 07:50

Apologies if something similar has already been done elsewhere

I was looking at the list of players whose images feature in the Eamonn Dolan graphic and thinking you could pick a half decent team from these boys. This would be mine.........

McCarthy

Long Cooper Hector Obita

HRK Karacan Tishbola Fosu

Gylfi Shane

......I am sure some of you think there is a better team to be had, many without HRK no doubt

(I look forward to joining fellow fans in the minute's applause later today)

Based on their careers so far...

-----------------McCarthy----------------
J. Kelly---Hector----Pearce----Obita
----------Tshibola---Karacan----------
Henry-----------Gylfi--------------HRK
-------------------Long--------------------

Subs: Hamer, Cooper, Keown, Kuhl, Fosu, Cox, Wickham
Not counting Austin because we don't deserve credit.

We released Austin because we didn't think he was good enough. He triumphed in spite of us.

We wanted to keep Wickham but his parents moved too far away. We set him on the path that Ipswich helped him finish.

my understanding with Austin was we were unsure of him because of his size, signed Church to play in the same position and Austin decided to leave and we didn't try and persuade him to stay.
So I think both sides were a bit to blame, although judging a player at 15/16 must be very difficult.
