Four wins and a couple of draws out of that lot. If the wins include Wigan, Villa and QPR I think we'll have enough points to stay up.

If we beat Wigan, Villa, and QPR I think that will signal we're doing pretty well. Pick-up a few draws elsewhere and an odd win; that will do the trick.

Most important is to take 3 points from these three giving them a deeper hold out of which to climb.

Any ideas/predictions on how many points it will take to stay up this season? Thanks.

Wigan (H) - WIN
Everton (A) - DRAW
Aston Villa (H) - WIN
Manchester United (A) - LOSE
Arsenal (A) - LOSE
Southampton (H) - DRAW
Liverpool (H) - DRAW
Norwich City (A) - WIN
QPR (H) - WIN
Fulham (A) - DRAW
Manchester City (H) - DRAW
West Ham (A) - WIN

An optimistic 43 points, which will definitely be enough to ensure survival. I fancy us to beat West Ham away again on the last day to stay up anyway

If we needed at least a draw v West Ham to stay up what team would you play?

4 wins 2 draws (Saints and Everton are going to hump us) 35 points. Down to the last day.

If that happens I may need a tranquilizer. I don't want to have to go through that again.

Whisper it quietly but I fancy us to get something at Everton. Win the next 3 and the celebrations may be able to start

Look at the fixtures

by paddy20 » 24 Feb 2013 10:24

If you look at the rest of the fixtures for the season you will see that the chances of survival now are minimal.
Unless we see one of Newcastle, Southampton or Villa implode we have almost no chance. If you calculate on the basis that we do quite well and others perform averagely this is the final table

Newcastle 43
Southampton 40
Villa 36
Wigan 33
Reading 33
QPR 30

QPR: Saints A Sunderland H Villa A Fulham A Wigan H Everton A Stoke H Reading A Arsenal H Newcastle H Liverpool A

Reading: Everton A Villa H United A Arsenal A Saints H Liverpool H Norwich A QPR H Fulham A City H West ham A

Villa: City H Reading A QPR A Liverpool H Stoke A Fulham H United A Sunderland H Norwich A Chelsea H Wigan A

Wigan: Liverpool H FA CUP ,(Man city A) Newcastle H Norwich H QPR A Swansea H West ham A Spurs H WBA A Arsenal A Villa H

Saints: Newcastle A QPR H Norwich A Liverpool H Chelsea H Reading A West ham H Swansea A WBA H Spurs A Sunderland A Stoke H

Newcastle; Saints H Swansea A Stoke H Wigan A City A Fulham H Sunderland H WBA A Liverpool H West ham A QPR A Arsenal H.

Looking at this little lot I would say we have the hardest run in, and its going to take an improvement of epic proportions to get us out of this mess.
Don`t bother with the open top bus parade next time because no-one wil be there. .

We still have a chance, just enjoy each game at once.
