Ledges technique of tackling people by walking straight through them is just something that karacan is never going to be big enough to replicate.

true, but karacan brings energy and a consistency that 9 other players lack , he gets on with his job doesnt moan normally gets battered because of his size but just gets on and hes only 22 still very very young

andrew1957 It is often said that RFC are a "young" side but if you look at the respective ages of the starting 11's against Watford it does make interesting reading.

Watford played an 18 year old, three 19 year olds and two 22 year olds plus some older players - average age 23.45

Our youngest starters were Shane Long and Matt Mills at 24 and the average age was 27.64.

Maybe we could do worse than give some of the younger players more starts.

Pearce and Karacan would normally have started and would have reduced the avergae age quite a bit (Pearce replacing a 33 year old and Karacan replacing a 27/28 year old). Still not as young as Watford but then when you are playing two very experienced full backs..........

loyalroyal7 come the summer i would expect we will sell the decent players bringing in a at least 10-14 mill for long kebe karacan feds, with this i would love to see some put back into the team as its not going to cost loads to get playoffs as so many teams do nowadays i think why have a youth set up if chances are limited and even more so why but players who you wont even sit on the bench . it may be that yes mcd is a decent enough bloke who clearly knows his football but he isnt winning games maybe time for a change?

FFS  It was bad enough having BR come in after the sale of last season. What chance would a newbie have if Kebe, Long, Karacan and Feds all left in the summer? And how much compensation to BMcD? Who would we get to replace? Allardyce? At least he knows how to play hoofball. BMcD is having to perform miracles with a squad with limited ability. That is hardly his fault. Who, in all honesty, could do better?

And next time, try adding some punctuation.

S
Sorry oxf*rd punctuation police !
He has had time to adjust the squad after the sale sig , doesnt matter how mucb he gets as the better teams in the league players. Houghton is about who plays his in form players not who he likes
