Alan Partridge

Jeffers217 Jon Stead would have perfect for such a cheap amount of cash but no..

He has got himself a 3 year contract on somewhere between £10k and £15k per week plus a nice signing on fee. Hardly cheap.

Standard for a CCC player these days.

No it is't.

What are you basing that on? Would you care to guess what McAnuff is on?

For the teams around the top almost certainly. Billy Paynter has had his wages more than doubled by going to Leeds. He's not even proven at this level.

You think Mcanuff, Mills, Griffin will all be on peanuts? Nevermind players like ingimarsson, Gunnarsson, Long, Federici etc from the PRemiership days, or did they sign for Reading because they love this club?

joe999 I think Long has got worse since he joined us. Church is beyond shite. I don't think Hunt is the answer to everything, especially now Stephen isn't here, which I imagine is the main reason why he moved down here, and we've let Mooney go, whos been scoring some cracking goals week in, week out. Just the sort of player we need.

Almost like they're trying to wind us up.

I would have liked to see Mooney given a decent run to see what he could do
but he has only scored in one game (2 goals) for Colchester

Not sure what that's supposed to be, but thanks for the ALOL at most ridiculous suggestion you've ever posted.

Forwards dont worry me to much, what annoys me is that we cant get someone in on loan to fill the defence.

As far as I'm aware, no other club has ever been mentioned as being interested in Long - tell you everything really.

Who's the only striker who's scored for us this season?

Care to compare Rasiak's scoring record with us to Long's?

Actually, Kitson on loan would not be a bad shout!

Gylfi's departure is a loss of 20-odd goals a season. Last season Church and Long managed roughly that tally between them :| .

No, not simple as! I'm gutted at losing Gylfi but I'd still put money on us staying up.

The original post was in September 2009 when our options were Hunt, Raziak, Church, Long.

They are now Hunt, Church, Long and, in addition, we have flogged off our top goalscoring midfielder.

So perhaps the thread should be renamed "worst attacking options since September 2009".

How can anyone seriously expect the club to do anything other than go backwards when every year its best assets are flogged off to be replaced by cheaper alternatives or, in the case of Raziak and Sigurdsson, not replaced at all?

Our finishing position has worsened year on year since 2007 and, all logic suggests, it is absolutely inevitable that this trend will continue barring some sort of gravity defying miracle.

Fret not Schards! Don't forget that with all these other clubs spending money they don't have, at least three will go into administration this season, thus giving us a ten point cushion!
