No Money - No Strikers - BUT HE HAS A PLAN...

by Thou Voice » 24 Aug 2010 01:07

Ahhh hhhaaaa fellow biscuit men with no vision...

...fear not at THOU VOICE knows what is going on...

There is no MONEY, no STRIKERS, no INVESTMENT and NO DECENT PEOPLE that sit around Thou Voice and family every week but youu are missing the very point of what is going on here.

This is the peoples club remember a family club and the Emperor has a plann!!!!

His goals are to provide cheap family days out and our season tickets are currently the cheapesst they have been in 5 years. Every year they will get cheaper and when we are in the Blue Square Premier with the BEST stadium in the league, we will be able to buy our Londis sponsored tops for £30 and get a freee season ticket chucked in.

It's all good, you must take the postives out of the negitivesss.

That is why the strikers are gone, the golden gamble people are getting less and less and there is no more chicken and carrot pies for sale.

The plan is to reduce the club to nothing but give us value days out as families.

DO YOU SEE?

Brett Pitman goes to Bristol city, we were looking at him last year, we need a new striker, how can we not compete with Blackpools seemingly low wage structure and Bristol City?!

If we are are well run club with such small debt, why are people buying clubs such as cardiff who have massive debts that need to be cleared? Are we really up for sale by Mr Mad?!

I do hope there is some sort of secret plan to make it all ok because at the moment I do feel like I am sailing on the titanic and and we have just hit the iceberg, its now a case of how long we can empty the water with our buckets before we starting sinking!

Buying a club with massive debt actually easier financially than buying a club with no debt.

Less cash needed up front.

That assumes you're a cash buyer presumably. Trying to get people to lend against a club with massive debts could prove tricky.

For some reason that's how it seems to work. Easier to take out a small loan for a club where the value is low because of the debts (that themselves don't need to be immediately paid off) than it is to take out a massive loan to buy a club with no debts.

Or at least it appears to make more sense to some people, certainly not me.

Crazy world.

Blackpool's 'seemingly low' wage structure is almost certainly considerably higher than Reading's sensible wage structure.

And I guess McDermott decided that Pittman isn't that much better than his current striking options.

use your head. Blackpool get promoted so they get millions from TV and generally being in the prem, so they can afford a few hundred thou. Plus, that Oyston bloke is minted. I know he's resigned but he's there until a new owner comes in.
Brizzle are taking a big risk in spending this season in hope of promotion. If they don't go up this year they'll be selling the majority of there squad next season.

What striking options??!!! What happened to the good old days of a twenty goal plus strike partnership? Any chance of Senior coming out of retirement?

Reading's top two scorers will score more than 20 league goals between them this season. Last season they scored 26, and last time Hunt had a full season he was in double figures too.

But the options we have now doesn't exactly feel me with great excitement. Someone like Brett Pitman could have been the striker RFC need right now. Reading took a gamble on Dave Kitson and that paid off when we bought him. If Bristol City can fork out the cash, then why can't Reading? Steve Coppell (when manager of BCFC) said they had very limited funds but this hasn't exactly stopped them going out and purchasing a striker who only a week or so ago scored a hatrick (yes, league one etc...). Signing one or two players at the begining of every season has always been part of the excitement of a new season. Unfortunately with Reading this part is fast becoming a distant reality as the usual boring soundbites come out.

Also, clubs with dodgy finances are more attractive for people with dodgy/shady backgrounds as less questions are likely to be asked ....

Blackpool wages cap is set at £10k (that will be lower than our highest earner). That is the reason they couldn't sign Koren or Stead - they were outbid on the wages front by Championship clubs.

I don't know how much Reading players earn but there can't be too many of the squad anywhere near £10k a week - can there? And if Bristol City are paying more than that for players like Stead and Pittman well, good luck to them and I'm not surprised or disappointed that Reading are not.
