Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I had thought Wellens was out of reach as we're not really ahead of Orient these days. But they're also struggling this season and it sounds like he may have taken them as far as he can.

If it's possible, it would be a definite yes from me.

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

If we end up appointing Matt Bloomfield I’d question the point of sacking Noel. Ritchie Wellens would be a good appointment but cant see us paying compensation. What is wrong with Bloomfield's record? First of all I don’t like that when it looked like he was on the verge of success he ditched Wycom...

Re: Hunts gone

I never want to see a manager sacked, especially one with such strong links to the club and he is a decent coach, but it's not even just the results, I don't see the team having any identity, which is baffling. Everything has felt so flat this season. The players don't seem to have the hunger and s...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

This. When he was sacked as Luton manager, their fans were basically saying the same things as a lot of our fans were saying about Hunt - too inexperienced; tactically naive; poor squad selections; poor performances; etc. Certainly doesn't seem worth sacking anyone to bring him in on the face of it...

Re: Hunts gone

Surely it'll be Bloomfield? Good L1 record, actually gave it a good go at Luton given the league position he inherited (they won 6 of their last 12 last season). And of course a big connection with Couhig and JJ. Quite possibly still lives locally? I think it'll happen quickly, and I'd be happy enou...

Confirmed by the club. I'd stay off Twitter. A necessary decision, but not one to celebrate.

Re: Hunt out.

Timing would make sense on so many levels. We said after Cardiff it was a big week; we achieved the bare minimum in terms of points, but yesterday's performance suggested no real progress or development as a team. And now there's two weeks until Stevenage for a new manager to settle in.

Re: Hunt out.

Brogue's fake account suggesting Carrick. I refuse to be believe it. It's a troll account with a mix of ocassionally accurate ITK news for credence and messing around to confuse people.

I simply can't see Carrick dropping so low.

Re: Hunt out.

I think the Bindon/Burns debate is taking away from the wider point that it's inevitable to lose your best players in L1 and have to develop news ones. Only a top budget would have kept the likes of Knibbs, Smith and Mbengue. If the players we have now look lost in comparison, maybe that responsibil...

Re: Hunt out.

How can you say Burns is ahead of where Bindon was 2 years ago? You say he looks a liability in the team, Bindon was never that and looked class from day one. He was out of position at RB and looked unconvincing. Even at CB, he got dominated by Rhodes at Blackpool and had a costly poor game at home...

Re: Hunt out.

I just think of course our players aren't as good as Bindon, Mbengue, Knibbs, Smith and Azeez, who are all playing at a higher level for a reason. But do they match them for potential compared to 2 years ago? Obvious example - Lane is a similar age to Knibbs when we signed him, and already has a L1...

Re: Is it time the RFC ended Club1871

They're a symptom of our problems, not the problem itself. The whole atmosphere around the club is at best "meh" and at worst toxic. I live away now, but try to make a handful of games every season. The Selles time in 2024 after he had turned around his poor start was the best atmosphere I...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Well I said after Cardiff that 4 points from these two were the bare minimum for Hunt to stay in a job, and it appears we have achieved the bare minimum. Neither performance has matched Cardiff and built upon that. We were imperfect against Northampton but probably deserved a win, today we were a l...

Re: Hunt out.

It feels like BBCRB coverage is pretty skewed, blaming recruitment and the quality of the squad. I simply don't buy it. Experience like Pereira, O'Connor,Williams, Yiadom, Savage, Wing, Lane, Ritchie, Marriot who are proven in L1. Younger options who can improve like Jacob, Burns, Abrefa, Ahmed, Kye...
