I’m not a Sky subscriber, and my father-in-law can’t find it on his telly guide. Is it on the red button or something?

Re: Ex Royals

Was that in the National League Cup? Seems to have similar rules regarding squad strength as the EFL Trophy. I take it Kanu didn't play in that if it was. It was, and he didn’t. I was expecting the early sub, although it was still a bit weird seeing a sub stood waiting at kick off. The guy coming o...

Re: Ex Royals

Was at Forest Green Rovers last night to see Charlie’s dad make the earliest substitutions I have ever seen. FGR took kickoff, booted it straight into touch and then made 2 subs. Royals connection is that one of the subs was Harry Cardwell who seemed a lot taller than he was when he was with us (or...

MR. CYNICAL
Tinpot Royal Or just get rid of International football

I'll go along with that.

But how would Infantino become beat friends with murderous dictators and sex offenders then?

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

He's a bit like Colin - someone we love to hate when managing our opposition but a decent guy and very good, knowledgeable professional when he's not. Certainly very knowledgeable about making illegal payments to players and tax fraud. I think that for clubs like Stevenage, they have an inevitable ...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

We made plenty of signings. Just not the right ones. Not Couhigs fault - JJ/Hunt/Carey must take responsibility there As I’ve posted before, and maybe I’m naive, but I assume at well-run clubs planning for the transfer window and identification of potential replacements should we lose key players w...

Re: Hunts gone

What did suprise me was the timing.....could it be they have someone already. I didn't expect it so soon. I saw a comment on Twitter (yes, I know), observing that the lack of mention of an interim manager suggested they had somebody already lined up. And, following that logic, presumably therefore ...

Re: Club culture - are problems deeper than management?

We're a relatively big club in league 1 and for a lot of teams playing us we're a scalp they what to take and raise their game. Are we though? A third of the league are ex-PL clubs, and three of them were more recently in the PL than us. We don't have a history of winning much, we don't have a larg...

On the Grass really has just become a completely meaningless phrase now hasn’t it? Be nice if journos didn’t just accept that as an answer Contact makes a bit more sense - guessing it’s still a couple of weeks min for Paudie I assume 'on the grass' means out of the gym and actually kicking a ball a...

Home to Brentford in Womens FA cup 3rd qualifying. They are tier 5 same as us. Tie confirmed for Sunday 5th October KO 2pm at Arbor Park home of Slough Town FC. It’s £4000 to the winners- £1000 to the losers. That's crazy money for that level! for perspective the Men's EFL League Cup prize money is...

Re: Fan demographics and commercial information

Doesn’t surprise me - most of my school mates have ended up in London, or moved to uni and stayed there. Admittedly, most of my school friends weren’t Reading fans, but I can imagine mobility towards London is high.

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Mark McKeever I remember him playing in the 4-0 win away at Stoke (I thought he scored two, but the website says only one), and I thought he was going to tear up the league, but he quickly disappeared into non-league. Looking at his Wikipedia page , I read why: "However, over the following week...

Re: Royals TV Match Commentary; better or worse?

Are you in the States? In the UK, the Berkshire feed usually cuts out a few minutes before three, to be replaced by a general Saturday goals programme. (I think it's this one: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p099jr69.) Very occasionally, I think someone forgets to flick a switch, and the Berkshire ...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

I liked him. Called himself Pélé. Wasn't his real name. It's almost like I can't quite believe he was ever real. And someone I've never forgotten, but I reckon many will have done: Ulysses de la Cruz. I remembered his goal, the long run from one end of the pitch to the other, but I had forgotten th...
