Re: Old Reading FC memorabilia thread

Great Football memories but more than anything they give a history of Reading in non football sense. 6d for a Fish Supper sounds good value!!

Re: Your first game

Reading Reserves in late 50's - can't remember the other team or the score - went to a lot of reserve games with my grandfather, must have been something about pensioners prices and primary school for me free... I do remember a game when a brick was thrown though the window of the Walsall team bus, ...

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie OI, OI, OI! ?

Or some new lyrics for Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport?

I think something to the tune of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo would be appropriate.

Re: Favourite Reading XI

My list is mostly made up of players of the 58/68 period when I watched most home games and several away. Some of the players if not well known by H.N.A.ers are well worth looking up in ROYALS REMEMBERED. Wilkie Neate Adie Williams Richardson Scarrott Pat Terry Douggie Webb Gilkes Wheeler Dennis Al...

Re: How long before the fans turn?

I've supported Reading since I was eight (almost 35 years) and have watched the likes of Ollie Kearns and Ray Hiron play for us - errr...to the younger folk out there they weren't very good. But I've honestly never felt quite as cynical as I do now. You look at a player like Jimmy Bullard who would...

Re: I am officially bored of Stephen Hunt

Playing at this level Hunt's "airy" in missing a golden scoring opportunity is the equivalent of Tiger Woods doing an 'airy". For the amount he gets paid, that miss was bread and butter stuff. Maybe he could be forgiven if it was a one off but i travelled 12000 miles to watch the team...

Adam Federici

Adam Federici has been named in the Australian squad to play Nigeria at Craven Cottage on November 17th.
Whilst Mark Schwarzer is the first choice keeper the experience should benefit Adam greatly.
Well done Adam!

SC is too loyal, which is a good trait, but has taken it to the extreme. In my opinion, the players I would drop are Murty, Gunnarson, Lita, Hanhnemann, Hunt and maybe Shorey & Duberry and go with: From what i saw here on Sky (being at the game may be different view) of the Fulham game i am of ...
