Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Half Horse I'm sure it will be Bloomfield.

Success at this level.
Previous working relationship with RC and JJ.
Available immediately.
No compensation to pay.

Expect the announcement before Wednesday.

100% this. Going to be one of the shortest who will be new manager threads ever.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Quite a coincidence that yesterday was the exact same scoreline, scorer and time of goal as our 1-0 home win against Northampton in March 2024!!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Yiadom was the difference today - as soon as he came on he was on it and won a challenge that started the move for the goal. Time for him to start and dominate that strip of land down the right side. Also agree with positive comments on the ref. There were a couple of moments on both sides where you...

Re: MATCHWATCH : AFC Wimbledon (h)

Disagree with all the negativity on the draw - a tie against a struggling championship side who will be focussed on the league is a great result.

Interesting only 5 champ sides left compared to 11 from div 1/2.

Great chance to progress a long way.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Yiadom showed today as a sub why we should offer him a contract.

Changed the game and lifted us for a period through his attacking threat and commitment.

We lack players to get the fans excited through passion or mercurial brilliance and he is one that does (through the former of course).

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

That was brilliant today. Cracking entertainment and could have been many more at both ends. Break definitely helped as came out with pace and intent. Some lovely football played at times and some great team moves. Saves / blocks from overhead and Savage volley were top drawer also. Credit to the ma...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wrexham (h)

Fantastic performance - on it from the start and dominated the first half without creating much. What was most impressive was we came out second half and went again and got our rewards. Also coped well with one of the most pathetic refereeing decisions there has ever been at the Mad Stad. Well done ...

Pepe the Horseman Sorry in advance for jinxing it, but this ref has been pretty decent so far.

Hmm……ridiculous sending off.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (h)

Not sure how we kept a clean sheet in the middle of that second half - was quite exciting in its own way. Started pretty well, and Savage and Wareham looked great, but all faded as Exeter worked us out. On the plus side, it’s a good trait to scrape a draw when we’re second best and if we keep averag...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

We've had some shit decisions go against us this season so today was definitely an example of the old cliche of them evening out over a season. The decision to rule out Mbengue's OG is as bad as any I've seen, and the winning penalty was so soft after all the stonewallers we've been denied. It’s po...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Saw this point on twitter and agree, but can anyone tell me or explain why Reading fans have this exhausting habit of screaming about the ball placement at the corner flag? In the second half all I heard around me were screams to "get on with it!" And real urgency to try to win. Then at t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Saw it twice on replay from different angles, a dive in my opinion, but appreciate it’s all about opinions. One thing I think we all agree on was this it was a dreadful performance It's never a dive at any angle. Blackman grabs his foot. This. you could argue that WiFi overran the ball but it was a...

Re: Confimred - Selles to Hull

Theo Walcott just said on Monday Night Club on 5Live that it shows how good a manager Ruben Selles is that Reading are now struggling since he left.

Er Theo, we are further clear of 7th then we were when he quit…….

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (h)

Good effort from the lads. They fought well, but ultimately tired out and the substitutions were always going to tip the balance back in Burnley's favour. All our subs were academy lads, whilst they were bringing first team players off the bench. Disappointed to be out of the competition, but the b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

I know it was a bad performance and result, and the timing of it is poor. But to be honest, it's exactly the same sort of poor performance and result we've seen under Selles when we come up against a big, strong, quick, physical side that's organised in defence. These are the sides we struggle agai...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

That was bad. Outfought throughout the 90 by a physically stronger Blackpool team who were on it throughout. Felt like they always had extra players on the pitch. Seemed we were short of attacking ideas and we don’t have anyone that can excite by taking it past players. I only think we should have g...

Re: Rumour - Selles to Cardiff or Hull

Us fans are not allowed to enjoy being a Reading supporter for that long are we.

The euphoria of last night followed by the despair of today.

This will lead to a mass exodus and asset stripping in January, followed by a slide towards the bottom.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cambridge United (h)

Lifeless down the left and generally lack pace. A bit too much is on Elliott to add the moment of genius and he’s chosen the wrong option more often than not. Look solid at the back. Enjoy watching Wing quarterback but fear it reduces his goalscoring potential. Interestingly it’s clearly a tactical ...
