Re: Hunt out.

When we have made good signings in the past, Brian Carey has been given the credit. Why is Noel now to blame for the not so impressive signings and not Brian? I assume he is still at the club.

Re: The Local Journo Thread

I asked him about losing the rights to do the Royals Tv commentary and he said it was a blessing. saying first and foremost he’s doing radio commentary. TV commentary is different, he often forgets his commentary is being broadcast on the TV, so it didn’t always come across very well for people watc...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (a)

I have been listening to BBC Berks. audio commentaries since before Tim started doing them. The last few years on Ifollow/Royals TV and al I can say about todays is that is the most dire I have endured. Silence at half time, couldn't wait to get away after the match. No discussion or man of the matc...

Re: Probable transfer nonsense - Knibbs leaving

If any player I wanted to sign was waiting for a better offer, I would say "There's the door, close it behind behind you, please". I would rather have a player who wanted to play for the club, not someone who signed just because he didn't get a better offer.

Re: Spurs friendly

We’re driving down to Cornwall today. Don’t suppose we’ll have an online commentary this week, will we? Presume you can listen to it via BBC Berks on the BBC Sounds app for free, or pay the club a fiver to listen to the same commentary on the Reading FC App courtesy of RoyalTV or both in an attempt...

We’re driving down to Cornwall today. Don’t suppose we’ll have an online commentary this week, will we? I seem to remember Tim or Ady saying two or three weeks ago that Radio Berks. will be doing a commentary today, You could try them as the "blackout" won't count today, as it's not a lea...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

If I were out of contract but considering signing I’d leave it as late as possible up until pre-season to test my market. There’s not really any incentive for the likes of Pereira to sign early unless it looked like someone was going to get signed in your place. The club could say "This offer ...

Re: Rob Couhig - New Interview

Don't worry guys, it's probably not long until the BBC axes Radio Berks. Then we can all look forward to weekly commentary from the Oxford matches on Thames Valley FM. I seem to remember they did this quite a few years ago. As you say, the commentary was the O**ord match, not even a score update fr...

good for us as wycombe will be nothing next season. would much prefer Charlton to go up, as i'd have them as favorites to win the league next season Why do you think Wycombe will be nothing next season - haven't they got a really rich owner now? As far as I gather the "really rich owner" ...

OOC players will want a pay rise, I assume, fees paid for o new ones? I think 10-15% increase will go only part way to fund this, but can't see a bigger increase, even though RC will want to be more profit making or at least losing less.

Snowflake Royal Brum's record is just never getting beaten is it.

Isn't that what a lot of us (and some players, of that era, I'm looking at you Glen for one) thought about 106?

Going into added time. Reading winning 9---0, Leyton Orient winning 1---0
Reading in 6th. place on goals scored.
Final whistle either Reading finish 9-1 or Leyton finish 2--0 (or both).
Reading in 7th. But a fantastic effort by the team throughout the year.

They should go full hog, get a chopper to lower down the match ball again, then get the Amazons on the actual pitch with equipment to play Black Magic live. Then couhig can come out with a contract in his hand to announce he's bought the club Then Dai will come running out and says "Oh, no you...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

I mean, maybe - but that would still involve outscoring Orient by 10 goals in 2 games or a 10 goal swing. I don't think those are too likely. My coupon for the weekend: Rovers 0 Reading 5 Orient 0 Wycombe 5  In reality as Mr A says win the game - if we happen to get 2 or 3 ahead then by all m...

Let's hope for a repeat of when we wanted, was it 7/8? goals to get into the Watney Cup. Knock up a high score twice and who knows, even if Leyton Orient win both their games. Doubtful, but be nice to have an amazing turn round, wouldn't it?

Re: Mystery 1981 Home shirt - Any help would be appreciated.

Just had a look at The Tilehurst End "History of Reading FC Badges" and it says the Three Elm Trees and Two Rivers was introduced in 1981 and only lasted two seasons. At least that narrows the date down, but does nothing to solve the other quesion, though. https://thetilehurstend.sbnation....
