Re: Team for AFC Wimbledon

Yeah let’s not rush Ahmed when it isn’t a problem position at the moment Ryan for Jacob is a possible. Lane/MoM/Ehibhatiomhan looked promising to me on Saturday, happy to start with that. Midfield tough. Have to start Wing and Savage really if fit. Not sure on that last one I have a feeling we'll s...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Firstly, where have you been the last two years, we were a biscuit from being gone not four months ago. So when you say Wycombe model, you really mean Madejski model. Or just, running a football club properly model. The two are similar but there are significant differences. Sir John built i...

From Despair To Where?
Orion1871 Rather have Melon Colley.

That would cause infinite sadness.

Re: Team for AFC Wimbledon

It is difficult not to agree with what has been said here. It is actually nice to have such problems. I will say that in my experience, managers tend to be more wedded to the players they are responsible for bringing in. The nightmare scenario for Noel would be to bring in Ahmed and Ryan with Kelvin...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

We aren't operating on a Wycombe budget, we have a Cat One Academy. Wycombe couldn't dream of one of those. A Cat One Academy costs something like a third to half the normal operating costs of a L1 club on its own. We've got pretty decent money for all our recent departures (in contract), despite b...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Don't read what people speculate on here, listen to the words Couhig says. There's no way he's said he wants to flip the club in three years. Where does he say its a 5 year strategy? In an interview. He says something along the lines that the plan is to be established in the Champ within 5 years. I...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Excellent performance and well deserved win. All did well but as others have said, special mention must got to Ahmed. Looks like he has filled out over the summer and when you force the opposition winger to swap wings you know you are doing something right. Both goals well taken. Excellent double s...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

We have a cat 1 academy, which has proven its worth over the last two difficult seasons. Very proud of our young players tonight, who played without fear or any weight on their shoulders. It matters more when they are your own.

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

I was getting very frustrated with the lack of ambition in the transfer market. Seeing our best players leave for small fees or nothing at all. These frustrations have eased this week by readjusting my expectations under the realisation of what has been the primary cause. I held on to this notion t...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Hendo Didn't we sign Wing from Wycombe and he's our best player?

Yes he did. Yes he is.

Wycombe also finished 2 places and 9 points ahead of us last season.

Yes they did. For which a great deal of credit goes the owner and Bloomfield.

Re: Matt Ritchie

Portsmouth have no clue what’s going on with Ritchie either, only that they won’t stand in his way and will be happy to cancel his current contract to aid his departure. So it’s all with Reading to agree personal terms. Abdoulaye Kamara and Tom McIntyre are two others in the same boat as Ritchie at...

Gus the teenage cow Brogue has assured me this should be announced today.

Remember it well that we had a look at him 15 years ago when he was at Swindon. Exciting times!

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

Fans all have opinions. Some are reasoned, well thought out and sound. Others are the machinations of delusional thinking prejudiced by their innate sense of self righteousness. That only their views count as truth, and others will agree or it is some sort of hate crime perpetrated against them. Twi...

Re: Academy - A false dawn?

It has been mentioned already, but we do seem to possess a decent U21 side. I have seen them play and am quite happy with what we have coming through. It is sometimes better to have a little fearless hunger in your side than professional cynicism.

Pepe the Horseman I've always been under the impression that's he's a bitofacunt. Nothing really to base that on mind.

That's quite a kind description.

Re: Buyout

Not saying you're wrong but it does beg the question, to me anyway, of why do they want to own a club. Surely they're not daft enough to think they can make money on the footballing side of it and if they don't want the fame, adulation and ego massaging then what is in it for them? Brand / name awa...
