Re: 40 years ago today...

Almost went, said to myself I’d go on 80 but at about that time Senior hit 2 in a minute so had to stay just in case they got a winner. The sending off was a bonus too! If only the FL had agreed TV terms by then

Glenn Burvil’s best ever contribution to a game as it turned out. He came on at 3-0 down

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Luton fan berating their players. Another fan tells him to shut up, scuffle ensues. Looks like Mr Grump takes one to the face. The Football League and police are now reviewing the incident and action may be taken as a result  Even more  Leam compared Derrick Williams to Bruno Fernandes af...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

Nigel Howe has timed the move to perfection. Effectively blocks early transfer window activity. This was my worry. Funny how the filing happens just before the transfer window. Does a winding up order put the club under an embargo? I’m guessing so. Don’t think so otherwise they’d be listed as such ...

Re: Weekend Football

Sky’s coverage of Spurs/Liverpool has been utterly dreadful

Richarlison is such a thug but has been outdone by Romero’s petulance

Liverpool have been absolutely abysmal even with an extra 1/2 men, have Slot and Stam ever been seen in the same room together?

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

Let`s be real, this is some guy owed a few quid, not a large organisation that is owed several millions. a storm in a teacup. sod all to be concerned about. I don’t think anyone thinks it puts the club at any risk. This, just more ****** annoyance to have to wade through thanks to Dai. Just what’s ...

Re: Rival Watch

With a table like this, it's another reminder that it's nonsense to have 4 relegation spots. I assume it dates back to regionalisation, with 2 into the northern league and 2 southern. But it's been national for ages and should be 3. It looks like a relatively good team could finish 21st on 55 point...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

Would actually say that that is nothing to do with NH - he wouldn’t scout players or define the budget - and more down to failings of the manager in deciding to be too loyal and having no real plan B after Scott Brown decided he he’d shockingly prefer the safe predictability of European football an...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Wish we could get a manager to build an attractive footballing outfit, instead we have someone wanting to play football from the dark ages. All we do is pass sideways, backwards and then hoof to one of the opposition defenders. There is the argument of course that managers see the players we have a...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

... My one criticism of NH was that when the time came to push on in 2007 he couldn't really think big enough - but that's also something to be held against SJM , especially as there wasn't the money to do what they needed due to the latter's publishing and property failures. Would actually say tha...

Re: Richardson out

Mid Sussex Royal So - 3 wins from 6 games.....same amount as Hunt achieved in 14 games.

Could have sworn Noel had 5 or 6 wins from his first 14 or so games in charge. :?

But then he did have the benefit of the best centre backs in the league plus a decent striker and opportunist goal scorer.

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

It saddens me the grief Nigel gets, he was after all the key decision maker when getting us to the top flight twice - despite SJM signing the cheques. Couhig took exception to Nigel not wanting him to buy the club, Nigel’s rationale was that Couhig didn’t have the funds - and so far it seems like t...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

So what is Howe’s play here? Because on the surface, given everything the club and all connected with it have been through, he certainly looks like the bad guy. He’s owed 100k From Couhig? Presume he was contracted by the club, therefore he has to seek recourse from the club in order to get anythin...

Didn’t make it easy for ourselves at the end did we? But positives to take, big 3 points and some great spirit shown Actually entertaining second half as well Reading getting nose bleeds now, up to an unheard of 14th. Next is another away struggle at Plymouth, hope they’ve all played there before :?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Shot count is rather pathetic for a home side, 2 shots 1 on target while Luton have had 2 on target from 5 attempts, really need to ramp up the tempo and make them work.
