Re: Hunts gone

New bloke needs to look at what’s what here and define a plan that enables the club to move forward without too much expense in the January window. Really need an obvious identity with plan a’s and b’s to hand, rather it was something that was attacking and entertaining rather than the scary play it...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Leam Richardson? Doesn’t he work with Paul Cook usually? Think I’d prefer Matt Bloomfield, don’t know why - just seems a very odd decision but then Reading’s recent record of managerial appointments is hardly a thing of any beauty.

Is Chris Hughton still a going concern?

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I'm sure it will be Bloomfield. Success at this level. Previous working relationship with RC and JJ. Available immediately. No compensation to pay. Expect the announcement before Wednesday. 100% this. Going to be one of the shortest who will be new manager threads ever. Yeah Bloomfield today or tom...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Whoever comes in will have their work cut out. You are only as good as your players. And this is a really poor group. Feel for Hunt recruitment was left to late due to the takeover and we were left with dregs. Don’t think it’s a poor group; Williams, Des, Ritchie, Marriott, Wing, Elliott, Lane and ...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

He had Wycombe flying, and he won 6 of Luton's final 12 last season and was unlucky to be relegated, despite them being firmly in the mire when he took over. Anyone who doesn't see him as an upgrade on Hunt needs their head checked. That will be me then, agree that he's on a par with Hunt as regard...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

. BTW Hunt spoke afterwards about signing an out of contract player-if we do then either the player will get crocked in his first game or will take 3 months to get up to speed having done no pre-season with a club. Randell Williams is who twitter think is training with us based on pictures a...

The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Noel has gone. Whether the decision is right or wrong Reading need a new manager. Who is your choice from the options below (yes, I know, I’ve probably missed someone obvious).

WestYorksRoyal Confirmed by the club. I'd stay off Twitter. A necessary decision, but not one to celebrate.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Slot has to go now surely, proven to be utterly clueless. Since the start of 2025 he’s taken Liverpool from a class outfit to looking like a team without fight, without accountability and without any form of plan. He moans about teams playing a “low block” and being a bit basic like it was illegal,...

Re: Weekend Football

Great game that, Brentford were superb. Supposedly Liverpool had spent several training sessions on how not to give Brentford opportunities yet spent most of the match finding new ways to give Brentford throw ins in the last third  Wonder what a midweek league cup exit to Palace would do for t...

Came home from Doncaster match, which I didn’t enjoy, to watch on TV our old friends and rivals from down the M4 tear the reigning champions apart in front of an ecstatic full house. Jealous ? You bet. May 2002 a long long time ago. Sobs. Yes it`s sick isn`t it, them Brighton and Bournemouth used t...

Why can’t they be “infinitely better” from kick off though?
