Akpala obviously goes to turkey for a year on loan. Well, it seems that this was that for this years transfer-window... I'll check out then, thank you for the hospitality and wish you the best for the return to pl! cheers.
Little update: Our manager said, that the Akpala-thing is not linked with the loan of our other striker. He's still allowed and able to change the club.
24 Aug 2013 16:21:08 Joseph Akpala has returned to Werder Bremen after his trial at Reading. Reading HAVE, from a very trustworthy source, offered the striker a 3-year deal, and the striker has accepted the terms. The hold up however is Bremen wanting more than what Reading are prepared to offer. Y...

Today we sent our young gun-striker Füllkrug, who was supposed to have a place in the 18-player-squad instead of Akpala, to a one-year lending to Greuter Fürth. I'd say, this doesn't increase the chances of an Akpala-deal and perhaps our managements know more, than they say. If we'd give away Akpala...
It seems that Akpala is back and trains in Bremen. https://twitter.com/tobihb/status/371190301039558656 I watched your game against Dortmund last night. Didn't know that Werder had Di Santo from Wigan, in fact, that was the closest you came to scoring when the Dortmund keeper made a good save in th...
Local newspaper says that a decision will be made tomorrow, friday. They also say that our manager's thinking of a loan-deal, which is a bit suprising, in my eyes.
Yesterday was the obligatory press-conference before the next match (friday, Dortmund away), but obviously no one asked about his state, there are neither news about him in the newspaper. I suggest there will news on weekend, actually everything's focussed on Dortmund, injured players and Arnautovi...

Akpala was at the wrong time in the wrong place. We played with one central striker (Petersen) 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and Akpala often was send on the pitch when we were one, two goals behind, not to replace him, but as second striker, which made not that much sense, since I'd see him in the center as sin...
You're welcome. Some Bremen online-newspaper write, that our manager expects already a first feedback of your staff today and that he's optimistic that Akpala will convince here. We'll see...
That's over 3Mio a year. Well, Werder couldn't pay that anyway, we struggled hard while getting rid of all the CL-Players and their contracts, but thanks for the opinion! I think Akpala earns about +/- 1 Mio €/year, probably depending on bonus fees for goals, matches, etc.
We paid about 1,5m €, should be appr. 1,3m Pounds. He's got a contract until 2016, but our manager Eichin said some days ago to the press, that he's free to look for another club. He won't be that expensive and we kind of like to have him off the payroll, since we bought a new striker last week. A l...
Also can't believe that Eintracht Braunschweig are now in the Bundesliga, I visited there for a Regionalliga Nord or (3. Liga) derby game vs Osnabruck that wasn't so long ago. Yes, they made a really cool development, worked seriously and gave a good impression the first two matches against us and ...
Sounds promising then. We play 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1, but we are lacking a striker that can play upfront on his own.. I'd rather see him as a central striker in a 4-2-3-1 than in a 4-3-3 where he may have to castle (?) on the wings. Like I tried to say: He chose with Werder the wrong club at the wrong ...
