Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Elm Park Kid Has it occurred to anyone that it's the quality of the players and the fact we are building a new team every season that's the issue?

The manager might be a secondary issue.

So, Richardson out?

Re: Realistic January CF targets

LB we are OK, right? Anyway, assuming MOM teturns, we’re going to need more than one there. Not going to think about names yet but try to pin down attributes and style. Someone older, wiser, likely more of an aerial threat and/or good at hold up play. Look at players not getting L1 or Championship t...

Re: Ex Royals

Charlie Wellens too! Looks like a bad decision releasing him, yet we kept other fringe first team former academy players who never play. He's not going to be playing ahead of Wing or Savage... or even really coming on for them. Would he be playing ahead of Doyle, Elliott, Fraser? Not really. Needed...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Oldham were always on the small side. league performance here Fourth tier in 1970. What Oldham‘s peak corresponds to is Joe Royle, then they were hit by all the nonsense/fallout of ITV digital. I'm not saying Oldham were a big club but barring the 19th Century, Oldham have always traditionally been...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Arguably Oldham have been that third club because geographically they've been the North East side of Manchester as opposed to United in the West and City in the south. Potentially Stockport to the South as well (not forgetting Bury and Rochdale). Surely it's no coincidence that their slide down the...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

I find it interesting that FC United did their climb up the league which basically falters the moment Salford come along. It that causal, or just coincidence? I'd say that FCUM have just about reached the level that their size and funding model allows; the level where the next step up is a whole lo...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Only realised recently just how far from Salford the Peninsula Stadium actually is. Old Trafford and the Etihad are practically the same distance away, whereas I'd assumed they'd just be over the water from OT. I was going to do a game at Salford, thinking it would be walkable from either Salford C...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

Think DK could turn out to be an inspired signing. He was raw at the start of the season but the improvement in recent weeks has been great to see. Sadly many of our other summer signings have been disappointing so far in comparison. When we last did a big changeover of staff in a summer (2023-24),...

Its no extra cost but I don't know if you have to ask for it.

Go to TV guide, go to Sports, go to Football.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (a)

We're not as shit as people think, and I'm sure we'll pick up. So we should win imo. Then everyone will decide we'll make the POs because we won an away game and Richardson is the second coming, only for us to fluff the next game and we're back to being the worst team in the history of the division...

rabidbee I’m not a Sky subscriber, and my father-in-law can’t find it on his telly guide. Is it on the red button or something?

Sky Sports Plus app - need to go through to Sports --> Football, if you've got the app.

Re: Plymouth Argyle (A)

I've already bought coach travel, so I'm in. Reminder to everyone, this match is on Boxing Day - so no public transport to get down to Plymouth. No trains you mean. There's a flixbus leaving Reading at 09:25 arriving in Plymouth at 14:20. There's a flixbus from Brum, leaving 23 and frozen stiff Chr...

Re: Weekend Football

The laws of the game don't dictate that he had to get a red either. If the ref deems it violent conduct, then it is a straight red. The situation from Monday is written out explicitly. In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person...

Re: Weekend Football

Royal Rother Pretty pathetic decision that.

Has been the case since at least the mid-nineties*.

(*I had thought Le Saux had been sent off that game, but apparently not. Still got a broken hand for trying to give Batty a slap. That said, ref in that game should have sent Le Saux off, by letter of law then.)
