Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Actually thought we played pretty well. Gave Northampton very little and we were the better side by a margin Elliott did ok, CBs good, front 3 all contributed and nice to have some physicality up there. Thought Kelvin was good and caused a lot of problems All subs did well bar the hapless Kyeweera ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Just got home. We bossed that, they came for a 0-0, were well organised and well coached but offered precious little attacking threat so it was all about whether we could get the one goal we needed (or not). We looked much better with Williams in the team, and even better when Yiadom came on. I can ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

https://i.imgflip.com/a8umw2.jpg https://i.imgflip.com/a8umxo.jpg As for the game, better finishing and we win that comfortably. It's down to the players, not the manager. As for the fans at the end wondering why a couple of the players eg Wing were shouting at them and refusing to clap them at the...

Re: Exeter City (A)

For any St James Park newbies, the indoor Centre Spot fanzone is excellent. One end is set up like a beer festival with local ales and ciders direct from the barrel, plus reasonably priced pasties and pies. Recommended. https://i.imgflip.com/a8umn2.jpg We went to the one outside the main stand (to ...

Re: FA Cup 2025-26

Franconian Royal Just no banana skin, please.

Apart from that Slough, please

Last time we had Slough away in the FA Cup, we went into injury time a mere 3-1 ahead and managed to hold on for a 3-3 draw.

And there was a gigantic punch-up in the car park afterwards.

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Mark McKeever I remember him playing in the 4-0 win away at Stoke (I thought he scored two, but the website says only one), and I thought he was going to tear up the league, but he quickly disappeared into non-league. Looking at his Wikipedia page , I read why: "However, over the following wee...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

With ref to Keith Scott, he scored a belter for us v Bradford City (then of the Prem) in the League Cup - a turn and sprint and shot that surprised him as much as it did us watching. Tommy Burns was sacked the next day despite us winning the match. With ref to Jim Leighton, he made the greatest save...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Vitesse, who were relegated from the top division in the Netherlands last season after being given an 18 point deduction, are currently bottom of the 2nd tier on -8 points after starting the season with a 6 point deduction, and then been given a further 21 point deduction late in 2024. There is no ...

Bound to be, plus: Sat 15 Nov Wigan (A) Sat 28 Mar Wigan (H) Not saying yes or no at this point, as it's worth noting that we didn't have grounds to postpone yesterday, and nor did Exeter, whose game went ahead as normal. We did have a 3rd player called up in the end so could have postponed the gam...
