Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Snowflake Royal Wellens is the best realistic option on the list.

Would agree, but can't imagine we'll end up with a manager we'd have to pay compensation tbh.

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

He had Wycombe flying, and he won 6 of Luton's final 12 last season and was unlucky to be relegated, despite them being firmly in the mire when he took over. Anyone who doesn't see him as an upgrade on Hunt needs their head checked. They were, but you could argue Noel Hunt had us flying between Feb...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Royalcop I think Bloomfield didn’t endear himself to Coughig in the way he quickly left for Luton after being entrusted with the manager position (reminiscent of Pardew and West Ham) so feels unlikely that they’d bring him here.

IIRC, Couhig had sold Wycombe by the time Bloomfield left there.

Re: Home ticket changes

One thing I can't work out is why this great new system doesn't extend to loading FA Cup games to a season ticket card. A friend of mine wanted to buy a ticket for the Carlisle cup tie, but was told his only options are to download an app (which he doesn't want to do) or print at home (which he can...

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

If we end up appointing Matt Bloomfield I’d question the point of sacking Noel. This. When he was sacked as Luton manager, their fans were basically saying the same things as a lot of our fans were saying about Hunt - too inexperienced; tactically naive; poor squad selections; poor performances; et...

Re: Hunts gone

A lot I could say about this, obviously. Do think he was completely ruined by the late recruitment of key players this summer. If we look at the table since we signed Jack Marriott, we'd be ninth - four points off top; four points off the bottom. I do think we were improving, but the slow start is w...

Re: Is it time the RFC ended Club1871

I'll put a pin in this, because I have too many points on Club1871 for me to write at this specific moment.

Would say it's certainly not been loud for the entire season and for large parts of last season.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

I didn't think were as awful as many seemed to think. The players are still giving it everything. We are generally creating more. We lacked the natural goal scorer we had in Marriott. I have no problems with Lane. Kyerewaa is 80% of the way towards being a good League 1 / Championship player. Calli...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

I agree with that. So do I Thought Lane was excellent Trying to discredit or dismiss people’s criticism as lacking analysis is arrogant. Tell me where we are improving. Tactically how is Hunt changing the way we play? Which individuals during his tenure has Hunt improved? We changed formations a fe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Has anyone looked at what our record and points look like if Lane takes his chances and scores those goals? I think it's 4-5 points more. Would be a totally different conversation and not that different. He's got himself in some great spaces and I think will come good with a little more time & ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

First, the squad coming together/formation settling down took time . Carroll started first two games, slipped to the bench, and only left at the end of the window. Hutchison was still playing until Shrewsbury. McIntyre and NGW both played > 10 games. Really odd looking at the team that started the ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

I'd just stick with the same XI which started against Northampton, assuming everyone's available. I'd give Kyerewaa a go if Ritchie isn't fit enough to start.

Re: FA Cup 2025-26

I wouldn't mind paying the higher ticket price if the club also said, 'we're taking the FA Cup seriously this year and aiming for 3rd Round minimum. There's a lot of prize money at stake so we'll be putting out a strong side 1st XI every round.' If we don't put out a strong side Carlisle could beat...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Lady referee, she was one of the better ones we had last season. Had to check it wasn't the one who did the West Ham U21 game, as she was shocking. Turns out that was Kirsty Dowle, who mainly does National League level in the men's game. It's Abigail Byrne tomorrow, who's mainly done League T...
