Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Have to remember as well that unlike the last few windows Reading are once again competing for players that generally other clubs actually want so things aren’t going to return the quick & smooth outcome of seeing a name linked and them joining a week later. Would be nice to be back under embar...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Reading fans a few months ago: "All I want is the club to survive and to be run well. "

Reading fans right now: "Why aren't we out-spending all the other clubs in League 1? We've been lied to. Couhig out!"

Re: MATCHWATCH : Lincoln City (a)

You’ve seen the same games as me then :) Though I’d keep O Mahony up front and Kelvin wing, Osho on bench but first attacking sub I do think we’re over reacting a bit yo pompey though, the defence was decent in the previous games. I’m going for a 1-1 or 2-2. I don't see us scoring 2. We scored 5 in...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

We obviously needed a few bodies in because of the departures, but from what I've seen, out home grown players look better than our new signings (Kyerewaa might be the exception - he may well turn out to be a good fit as we are a bit lacking in pace). We clearly need more firepower up top - O'Mahone...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

We haven't relied on a striker to score the goals because, with the exception of one season with Joao, we've not had a good goal scoring forward. We desperately need someone who can score 20 or more goals a season, and those kind of numbers usually come from the guy up top. I note we've not had a pl...

Re: Spurs friendly

Enjoyed that, thought Reading played really well. Defended well first half, took the game by the scruff in the last half hour or so. Should’ve had a penalty. A LOT of Spurs in the home end. Also, Van de Ven is a specimen There was always going to be loads of them in the SJM. It's not really a big d...

Re: Spurs friendly

I'd say the Spuds are up there just behind Chelsea and Arsenal in terms of "supporters" around the Reading area. Expect a lot of people all around you who think their knowledge of and passion for football is much better than yours because they "follow" a PL side.

Re: Homophobia in football

It really takes Stewart Lee to deliver Stewart Lee jokes; and they don't often work in an irony-free environment such as this.

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

I think we all know there aren't enough goals in this squad yet. Only one senior front man. Needs another 20 goal a season forward. I realise they are the most difficult type of player to recruit, but without another one, we are never going to score enough goals. Can't rely on Knibbs, O'Mahoney and ...

Re: Homophobia in football

I'm sure the vast majority of Blades are as disgusted as we are. However, his voice hasn't changed, and I don't recall a single instance of anything homophobic being even hinted at by Royals. So it maybe that attitudes are a bit more Neanderthal amongst a tiny minority of Sheffield United followers,...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Right lubala signing today, Jacobs tomorrow. Craig is going to Orient. And we've turned down a 1 Million pound bid for Harvey Knibbs. Thanks Does that mean Orient are paying Craig 12k? Seems a bit unlikely. If not, he may be making a side-ways (at best) move for no good reason. It's great shame bec...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Firstly, we know Couhig is a hard bastard in negotiations, it's how he bought the club. It's also safe to say most fans would view the likes of Wareham and Ehibhatiomhan as squad players and not first name on the teamsheet. Craig is a bit different that I think he is genuinely a top half L1 player ...

Re: Ex Royals

Paunovic is now a manager in La Liga with Oviedo, having secured promotion. Tigres fans in Mexico liked him a lot too I saw they'd been promoted, didn't know he was the manager. Pleased for him. Decent guy. When he's sat on the bench at Mastella or the Estadio Benito Villamarin he'll wonder where i...

Re: Ex Royals

We got rid of him because he was unprofessional and a bad influence on our younger players. Absolutely do not want him back. Which seems a bit strange, because both of his clubs in France (Bordeaux and Amiens) have emphasised his professionalism, his positive influence on the squad in general, and ...

Andy Carroll leaves FCGB to return to the UK.

11 goals in 21 games.

The praise from the club for him is really effusive. Unusually so.

At first I thought the title of the thread was a question.

The answer to which would be Brazil's World Cup squad of 1982.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I’d be up for changing our nickname back to The Biscuitmen. The Royal family haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory of late. Time to distance ourselves from them before one of them bangs a child and then buys them off again. +1000000 You know when some pr1ck at school gave themselves a nicknam...

Re: By Far The Greatest Team The World Has Ever Seen

I don’t think there are 600 odd better teams than us in the world. We're maybe similar standard to bottom third Eredivisie, bottom half Jupiler Pro-League, bottom third Portuguese, most of the Norwegian, Swedish leagues all bar the top two or three. I think any German, Italian, Spanish, French, Arg...
