Royal Lady
SHORT AND CURLY You moaning Barstewards

The club are offering FREE transport for 2800 of us. Something they have NEVER done before.

Typical that the moaning minnies are out in force tonight.

I spent the best part of 9 hours cramped up in a car, using about £70 worth of fuel on Tuesday getting to and from Everton. The thought of a similar journey next Sunday was not exactly enthralling.

Personally I am grateful for the gesture. I have had years of getting shafted by the club for varying reasons and for once cannot see a problem with this.

Thank you RFC and I offer an apology for the miserable TW@TS that follow this club.
Who is moaning about the free coach travel? :|

It just appears to me that this thread is made up those whining and moaning for various reasons. The folk of Reading always find something to grizzle about, be it tickets, allocations, timings, prices....whatever......
If some of this energy was actually generated into supporting the team, we might actually have a passionate support that gets behind the players.
We just appear to come across as a negative miserable bunch

i think the thread has gone this way as on the same day the club announce free travel, they also publish that we have only requested half of our entitlement.
just bad timing or bad judgement,

it's the FA CUP quarter final and little ol Reading could make history on 13th, why would only 2,800 want to go especially with the free travel?

the free travel is a great gesture from the club, lets just hope we can all get match tickets.

Actually, it has happened before. Two seasons ago, Norwich away on a Monday night thanks to Sky, Long scored twice in a 2-0 win.

So there are initially three coaches that travelled up to Everton. That's approx 210. 30 coaches should do it if we only take the 2800. Great gesture. The free travel is a good will gesture and hopefully a guarantee that those wanting an A to B journey will actually take up the initial ticket allocation. It's not often we are given an incentive and a way to minimise the costs of away support. Embrace it for once and stop the bloody moaning.

It is a good gesture...although for those of us that live a long way away its not something we can take up. I'm more concerned about the ticket allocation. Thats whats upsetting people and not the free transport.

Well the banding is a little askew but with such a short time frame the tickets need to be opened up for all as soon as. The club cannot be seen to be restricting the sale of tickets too much as there might even be another allocation if all goes well.

The thing I'm angry about is not the free travel (which is of no use to me anyway.....unless they are running a Chesterfield bus) but the number of tickets taken. When we do get the 2nd allocation, which we will, then it'll be too late to post up here for me to go. If we had taken the whole allocation, Royalty points could have been used in smaller jumps. This would have be a fairer way to allocate the tickets. What is the point in having the system if you aren't going to use it? They may as well have said season ticket holders and then everyone else! I don't care if people think I'm moaning, I bloody love this club, I do a 300+ mile round trip to home games and go to as many away games as possible. When an important game like this comes along on my bloody doorstep, I'd like to think I at least had a chance to sit in the away end with my 900+ Royalty Points. I fear now I'm going to have to pretend to be a Citeh fan!! Or suffer ESP Bloody N!!

Thats really the point a lot of us are making rex. It would have made sense for tickets to have been made available as of today or tomorrow at the latest so that by Monday the club had a good idea whether more tickets were needed. That would have given the club/supporters/Royal Mail more time to get tickets from A to B.
Lets see how next week goes. Hopefully all those that want tickets will get some. For such a big game we could do with all the support we can get.

Hopefully City will allow pick up of tickets. That'd be good of them.

As most will be in the Tuesday bracket such as yourself then this is still plenty of time to get them out to you. I appreciate your sentiments there and this was not meant as a slight.

Scrappy . You can't get free coach if you book online, .

Is this definite? Can you not jut by the ticket and ring up after? So many questions...

the club thinking of putting on free transport as a goodwill gesture

an available allocation of 5,800 (if taken up)

how easy could this have been??

not sure where the extra allocation comes from??

Reading RFC official site it is pretty clear that we have 2,800 tickets and that ALL supporters will be offered the free coach service, add that to this response, below, on the City site and I don't hold much hope that there are any more than 2,800 tickets, certainly not all grouped together.

Leicester_royal wrote:
I'm sure we would have been close to selling out the 5,800 allocation that we could and should have taken.

Unfortunately now it all depends on how quickly our club request a further allocation and then if they give themselves enough time to sell them.

The FA Cup clearly means a lot to our manager, players and fans, not sure that we can include the club in this though.

unfortunately you wont be getting any more as the areas of the ground that would've been given to you if you had took the full 6k are already being sold to season ticket holders (and these blocks will be amongst the first to go due to being in the most popular part of the ground)

It's misleading.

You can't book a free coach ticket online, but anyone who buys a ticket is entitled to free coach travel. You just have to call in or phone to to get the coach ticket separately.

So Reading have picked up another £180,000 for winning in the 5th round and £247,500 for the game at City being on TV.

Why can't you pay for a few members of staff to work in the ticket office on Sunday? No London Irish so no excuse, shambles all round from RFC again sadly and i predict they'll make a balls up when asking for extra tickets!

It's a brilliant thing that the club have offered free travel and I'm sure we'll get a great turn-out because of it.

Not so happy about having to battle through the mayhem at midnight, and almost certainly having missed out on all the tier one tickets, and having an anxious wait for the tickets. The whole thing is running two days behind where it should be.

Sadly, the good work of granting free travel is going to be lost among the howls of justified anger as 3000 odd fans who want tickets and could have had them don't because of another howler of a decision by the club. This will be the lead story on local news Tuesday night when there is carnage and it's announced that no further tickets will be forthcoming.

After having chance to sleep on all the excitement of yesterday, I'm sure the club have it all in hand.

Announcement on Tuesday night ' that due to demand we have taken up the extra 3,000 tickets. Could everybody take the day off work Tomorrow please and form an orderly queue outside the ticket office '. :?
